Before sending in a soil, plant, forage, or insect sample, please visit our sampling instructions on our website.

Soil sample boxes can be picked up at your county Extension office.

Please remember to send enough samples:

  • Soil nutrient test – 1 cup
  • Soil texture – 2 cups
  • Greenhouse/Potting media – 1/2 gallon
  • Forage – 1/2 gallon
  • Plant disease – Ample amounts of actively dying sample
  • Plant nutrient – 20 to 50 leaves/trifoliates
  • Golf problem – 4-inch core
  • Check:
    • Please make check out to the University of Tennessee.
  • Credit Card:
    • Please write your phone number on the submission sheet and we will call for your credit card number.
  • Do not write down your credit card number.
  • Cash:
    • Please pay in person. Please do not mail cash or leave in atrium.

Please protect your submission sheet and
check from sample. Please do not put the
check or submission sheet in the soil
